- Retina recognition is not deployed widely because of the enrolment challenges and the expense of the equipment but because of its relatively high level of accuracy it is mainly used in identity verification applications in highly secure facilities.
- Medical applications – retinal scanning is used for medical research and diagnoses. Many serious illnesses can be predicted and detected ranging from malaria, Lyme disease, sickle cell anemia to heart conditions and atherosclerosis.
