ABOUT THE EVENT
Knock, knock… who’s there?
How do you know who you are dealing with not only in person but online? What will travel look like in five, ten or 20 years? How will artificial intelligence change our world and how can we ensure machines will work in synergy with humans? How can regulation, policy and standards developments keep pace?
Digital identity is a cornerstone for thriving economies and inclusion. Governments have been working on frameworks and policy for digital identity to ensure safe, secure, and convenient service delivery to citizens. Biometrics has been identified as a key enabler for digital identity management. People will adopt new solutions if the benefit is there, but trust is equally important.
We are seeing an increase in cyber-attacks and data breaches. Uncovering risks of attacks on biometrics has been discussed by Biometrics Institute members for over a decade now and much has been done to make biometric systems more robust.
Whatever we do with biometrics, we have to ensure that we implement them responsibly, ethically, and effectively. Over the past 21 years, our biometrics community has been working effortlessly to make that mission possible.
The Biometrics Institute is respected for its balanced discussions between very different stakeholders to find ways by which we can create a better and safer world through the use of biometrics.
The Congress attracts over 250 delegates including representatives from government, the user community such as retail, banking and aviation as well as biometric suppliers and academics.
The event will be held under Chatham House Rule and will be off-the-record (no media) to facilitate open dialogue between our members and stakeholders.
