Member Meeting, Singapore
10 October 2019, 09:30-13:15
SITA, Singapore
We are holding a free-to-attend meeting in Singapore for the first time since 2012. We would love you to attend to help us develop our understanding of this region. 2019 has been a big year for biometrics and while we are seeing a global industrial revolution in facial recognition technology it’s crucial that we join together as an inclusive community to agree on good practices.
The theme for this half-day meeting, kindly hosted by SITA, is, “Seamless travel, public perception and biometric good practices.” We want to understand the Asian biometrics landscape and the good practices that this region considers important. We want to know more about your regional perspectives on good practices so we can incorporate your different needs, cultures and politics into our global good practice guidance.
The meeting will address the opportunities and challenges our community is facing in an off-the-record open dialogue. It will also include high-level presentations and panel discussion. There will be expert presenters including:
- Pam Dixon, Privacy Expert Group Member, Biometrics Institute and Director, World Privacy Forum
- Younkyung Kim, Regional Manager, Airport, Passenger, Cargo & Security, Asia Pacific, IATA, Singapore
-
John Rule, Managing Director, Brands Australia on Correct photo capture requirements
- Rob Mungovan, Vice President, and General Manager, Biometrics, Aware, Inc, USA on Enabling mobile visa applications with biometrics: trends and best practices
- Terry Hartmann, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Cognitec Systems, Australia on Debunking the latest face recognition myths
